Submissions, or rather positions that give way to submissions, are positions in same way a general mount is and should be dissected and studied as such.
Something I’ve also noticed in the past year is the threat of submission (real enough to require defensive compensation) can offer opportunities for more control. This idea is a bit counter-intuitive because people often associate submissions with finishing, with ‘finishing’ seen as a logical end-point of management/control.
Blend everything. Use submissions to set up other submissions along with examining opportunities for deeper control and further points of contact.
