Maximum control with as little effort as possible, and tiny window-spaces for countering opportunity.
This is the efficiency aspect of Jiu-Jitsu.
The above thought process is why I draw a lot of inspiration from wrestling, as since it’s been around a lot longer competitively than modern BJJ, it’s more mechanically evolved within its popular rule-sets (folkstyle, freestyle, greco).
Short, compact, and direct.
