Principles: Morphing

The principle of morphing is shifting our point(s) of contact and pressure to counter-balance and/or nullify you’re opponents movement. Some of my friends liken this concept to ‘contouring’ or ‘surfing’ and rightly so.

The preceding idea is why I preach grabbing cloth sparingly, as such action can unnecessarily ground us, leaving doors open for counter-offense, energy waste, and predictability.

To sum things up, smooth, effective Jiu-Jitsu requires a willingness to ‘Night Shift:’
