As the game has been shrinking down I’ve become increasingly aware of combinations.
This has created a more complex, albeit fluid understanding of Jiu-Jitsu as now positions work via relationship instead of on their own.
In some ways this is the difference between mastering a mechanical bull and actual bull riding. When I thought about BJJ positions before I didn’t necessarily account for a training partners movement. The problem with that is whatever I’m trying to accomplish is inexorably married to such movement.
