Guard Passing: Arms Vs. Legs

Currently re-examining how I pass the guard and playing with the idea of using my arms to ride and flow with the guard players leg movement, as their legs are likely far stronger than my arms so ‘forcing’ a position isn’t energy efficient. Then, from that preceding flow, using my legs and hips to pass.

Also looking at combat base again as the leg positioning lends itself to blocking access to your hips as well as a nice intermediary between standing and being on the knees. On that subject I came across a cool video of Chris Haueter discussing a constant churning to facilitate ease of movement from there as well as any other positions (:34-3:10):
