Study: Method & Function

Questioned myself while straying from a plan (method) this morning, and realized part of the deal is believing I’m giving up a degree of function when doing this.

Think this comes from the ‘what gets measured, gets done’ mentality.

The problem with this is in art, there’s no clear or direct finish line other than a continual back and forth flow between a domain of study and needs of an individual.

Also, there’s a natural, child-like vigor there that drew us to the art in the first place, and measurement at the wrong time can work to stifle this.

If there’s a lesson in this, it’s paying attention to our vitality in relationship to an approach.  If it doesn’t feel good, or at least do-able, do anything else!  It might be as simple a case as right approach, wrong day.
